Yan Balistoy is an artist living in Switzerland. He graduated from the Zurich University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Acting.
After his employment in german Theater Oberhausen, he started his employmnet as a performer at Theater Neumarkt in Zurich in 2021. "Madama Butterfly", where he worked with Japanese director Satoko Ichihara, was invited to the Spielart Festival in Munich, the Wiener Festwochen, the Impulsefestival in Mülheim, the Tooyoka Theatre Festival in Kinosaki, the ROHM Theater in Kyoto and the Brandhaarden Festival in Amsterdam. In Felix Rothenhäusler's "Porno mit Adorno" he performed with singer and songwriter Faber. For his collaboration with the Israeli director Orly Rabinyan he wrote a multilingual rap. Furthermore, he worked with the German-Romanian artist Anca Munteanu-Rimnic and the Peruvian artist Daniela Ortiz. In 2023 Yan Balistoy will present his first theater production as director, highlighting the integration process of immigrants.
Yan Balistoy's work is multilingual and transdisciplinary. In his work he combines elements of acting with dance and music.
